Product information of the VO-YLKmb 0.6kV – 1kV

Application

The lead sheath of this cable offers excellent protection against aggressive substances, such as organic solvents and fuels and is very corrosion-proof. Suitable for direct burial, for low voltage installations up to 1 kV.

Advantages

  • Flame retardant
  • Tinned Copper Wired Braiding (TCWB)

Applicable in ATEX zones

Cables used in ATEX zones need to comply with certain (construction) requirements. The VO-YLKmb 0.6kV – 1kV meets these requirements. We will give you two examples. Empty spaces between the cores are not allowed as this makes the transportation of flammable liquids and gasses possible. Therefore, the bedding or the inner sheath of the cable needs to be pressed. Another requirement is that the outer sheath of the cable must be made of an elastomer, a thermoplastic or a thermoset material.

Advantages of the VO-YLKmb 0.6kV – 1kV

Flame retardant

Cables used to be responsible for spreading fire. The VO-YLKmb 0.6kV – 1kV is flame retardant. This means that this cable is designed in a way that it will not spread fire. Cables with these advantages are often used in buildings and at locations where people live, work and travel / move.

Tinned Copper Wired Braiding (TCWB)

The advantage of a tinned copper wired braiding is that it protects the VO-YLKmb 0.6kV – 1kV from outside electromagnetic fields. This kind of armouring is widely applied to flexible cables where corrosion occurs due to (weather) conditions, like in the offshore. An additional advantage of the TCWB armouring is that it strengthens the cable.
